Kharagpur Tribal Primary Teachers’ Training Institute (PTTI) was established to elevate the standards of education in the tribal community of the area, by providing two year Diploma in Education programme. The institute is run by Kangsabati Development Employment & Service Trust. Kharagpur Tribal PTTI is affiliated to West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The institute is associated with qualified and dedicated teachers to groom its students. The institute is equipped with labs, library and all the other basic amenities, in its campus.

Candidates should have successfully completed graduation from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate, to be eligible for the programme. Reservation of SC/ST category candidates is done as per the norms of the university.
