Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is one of the oldest medical colleges in the state of Karnataka. Located in Hubli in the district of Dharwad in Karnataka, the medical college was set up in 1957. The college was known as Karnataka Medical College until 1997, when it was rechristened to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences. During that period, the college acquired the status of an autonomous institution, approved by Government of Karnataka. KIMS is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
 
With an aim to develop research work, KIMS Karnataka provides modern facilities within its campus. The college also aims to provide excellent training to its students. It conducts several medical courses at UG as well as PG level and a Nursing course at the Bachelor’s level. All the courses offered by Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences have been approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The Nursing course offered by it is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
MBBS
Higher Secondary Certificate Examination or its equivalent in Science stream (PCB) with at least 50% of marks is mandatory, from any recognized Board.

Nursing
The candidate must have cleared 10+2 in science stream, from a recognized Board.

Post Graduate:
Graduation in the relevant stream is needed to get admission in this program.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:

Common Entrance Test is conducted, to admit candidates to the course.

Nursing
Candidates must appear in an Entrance test.

Post Graduate:
To get admission, the candidates should have scored qualifying marks in Karnataka PG Entrance Test.
