Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati is one of the premier engineering institutes of the country. IIT Guwahati was established in 1994 as the sixth member of the IIT fraternity. The institute commenced its academic programs in 1995.
The establishment of IIT Guwahati has given the much-needed impetus to technical education in the northeastern region of India. IIT Guwahati's campus is spread over a sprawling 285 hectares on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra. Within a short span of time the institutes has earned a number of accolades, nationally and internationally.
Presently, IIT Guwahati has eleven departments covering all the major engineering and science disciplines. The Government of India has officially declared IIT Guwahati as the institution of National Importance.

Undergraduate:Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) from any recognized Central / state board.
Post Graduate:ME / M Tech / PG / Post Graduate
The candidate should have gone through Graduation in BE/B.Tech from any recognized University or Institution.

To be eligible, Graduation from the relevant field is necessary for the candidates.
Doctorate:The aspirants must have cleared their Bachelor?s or Master?s degree from the Technological field.
