Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology is an autonomous institute of the Government of Orissa. Established in 1982, the college is affiliated to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela. IGIT Orissa was formerly known as ‘Orissa College of Engineering’. It conducts technical courses in several branches of engineering, at the undergraduate degree and diploma level along with postgraduate level. Apart from engineering courses, the institute also imparts postgraduate level programme in the field of computer applications (MCA). All the courses imparted by the institute are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. With a campus spreading over an area of 176 acres of land, Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology provides ample basic amenities within its campus.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
The candidates must be 10+2 passed in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, from any recognized Board.

Diploma:
The admission seekers need to have passed 12th standard of examination in science stream, from any recognized Board.

Post Graduate:
M Tech
All the candidates should have done BE/B Tech, from any recognized University.

MCA
The candidate should be Graduate with minimum 50% and Mathematics / Statistics at 10+2 level.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
Admissions are done through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and Counseling conducted by Biju Pattnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela. And few seats are filled up through Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by Orissa Private Engineering College Association (OPECA). The remaining seats are filled up from rank holders of CET / JEE / AIEEE.

The diploma holders, who are qualified in JEE (lateral entry), can get admission directly into third semester B Tech in relevant discipline through JEE counseling.

Post Graduate:
M Tech
Candidates having valid GATE score are admitted after an interview.

MCA
Enrolments in State Quota seats are based on JEE, Orissa. Vacant state seats and Management quota seats are filled at college level in order of priority from JEE/AIMCET qualified candidates.

Entrance Test: GATE Exam, AIMCET, Orissa JEE

Diploma:
The admission of the candidates is done on the basis of Diploma Entrance Test (DET).
