Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI) Kanpur is one of the leading science and technology institutes of India. HBTI Kanpur can trace its origins to Government Research Institute, Cawnpore, which was established in 1920. The institute was renamed as Government Technological Institute in 1921. In 1926, the institute acquired its present name and came to be known as Harcourt Butler Technological Institute.
HBTI Kanpur is spread on a campus of 348 acres divided into two parts, east campus (77 acres) and west campus (271 acres), situated 3 km apart. HBTI Kanpur offers 4-year B.Tech programs in thirteen branches of engineering.
HBTI Kanpur is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the courses approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. HBTI has two campuses namely East and West Campus, and it is affiliated to the Uttar Pradesh Technical University, UPTU, Lucknow.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:To be eligible, the candidate should have cleared Higher Secondary Examination with the subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry from any recognized University.
Post Graduate:The candidate must have passed his or her Graduation in the relevant subject with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) or its equivalent.
MCA
The aspirants should have done Graduation or Higher Secondary examination with Mathematics as a main subject.
Doctorate:Masters degree in respective subjects is necessary to be eligible for this program.
