Government First Grade College Tarikere came into existence in 2007 with the motive of bringing prosperity and success in the region through quality education. The college is located at Tarikere Taluk, in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, spreading over sprawling campus in the midst of nature, surrounded by salubrious atmosphere. Government First Grade College Tarikere is affiliated to Kuvempu University, Shimoga and governed by the Department of Collegiate Education, government of Karnataka. The college imparts concept-based undergraduate courses in arts, science, commerce, and business administration disciplines. Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination, or its equivalent, from a recognized Board/University in any stream are eligible to apply for the BA/BBM courses.
B.Sc:
Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination, or its equivalent, from a recognized Board/University with science subjects are eligible to apply for the B.Sc course.
B.Com:
Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination, or its equivalent, from a recognized Board/University with subjects, such as Accounts, Maths and Economics are can apply for the B.Com course.

Selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and as per rules and regulations of Kuvempu University, Shimoga and government of Karnataka. For admission into BBM program, final selection will be made after group discussion and personal interview session.
