Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) in Bidar, Karnataka, is one of the important educational institutions for technical courses in the state. The college came into existence in August 1980, when it was incepted by Prabandhak Committee, Gurudwara Sri Nanak Jhira Saheb, Bidar, as per the orders of the Government of Karnataka.
Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, GNDEC Bidar offers undergraduate courses in several technical disciplines. Courses conducted by Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Spread over 23 acres of land, the college is also accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) New Delhi.

Applicants who have passed 10+2 standard or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with at least one optional subject out of Chemistry/Bio Technology/Computer Science//Electronics/Information Science/Biology, are eligible for the course. The candidate should also have studied English as one of the languages and should have obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate. Candidate seeking admission under minority must be a Sikh. In that case, he/she would be required to produce papers certifying the same.

As for admission via the seats of Management quota, the applications received seeking admission to first semester are sent to Selection Committee constituted by the Management. Any selection depends on merit.
