College of Engineering in Thiruvananthapuram is among the most reputed engineering colleges in the state of Kerala.

College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram/Trivandrum (Kerala), set up in 1939, was envisioned by the then King of Travancore. The college started functioning by offering degree and diploma courses in three branches of engineering. Today, it has grown into one of the premier institutes for professional courses, in the state. College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram now offers undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral courses in several streams.

College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram also conducts courses in Business Administration (MBA), Computer Application (MCA) and part time M Tech. The College, which is affiliated to the University of Kerala, is the largest engineering college in the state. With an aim to maintain high standards in education, the college provides modern facilities to its students.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
The candidates should have successfully passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations considered equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry clubbed. Candidates having a diploma in engineering are also admitted. Scheduled caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates require only a pass in the qualifying examination.

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech
Applicants must have a B Tech degree with 60% minimum marks. For SC/ST candidates, the threshold of marks is 55%. If applying for M Tech (Evening) degree course, the candidate should be in employment in the Engineering profession, for a minimum time period of two years. Persons who have passed AMIE/AMIETE are also eligible to apply.

MCA
Pass in all subjects with 60% in B.Sc./B.Com./B.Tech. of the University of Kerala with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects of study or equivalent examination, is necessary for the course.

MBA
University degree in any discipline is needed, with at least 50% marks. For part time MBA, two years supervisory experience is also required.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
A Common Entrance Examination (Kerala CEE) is held. If necessary, candidates are called for counseling at Directorate of Technical Education, Thiruvananthapuram. For Admission in B Arch, having a NATA score is necessary.

Entrance Test: Kerala KEAM

Post Graduate:
M Tech / ME
For M Tech, admission is done via GATE, a common entrance test. For part time admission, the candidates should have work experience of at least two years.

MBA
The selection is based on MAT score, interview and group discussion.

MCA
Selection is made on the basis of the rank obtained in the entrance test KEE MCA.
