Birla Institute of Technology & Science Pilani or BITS Pilani as it is known, was established in 1929. At that time it was a small school and today it has blossomed into a set of colleges for higher education, ranging from the Humanities to Engineering. In 1964, all these colleges were amalgamated to culminate into a unique Indian University of International standing.

The Institute was christened as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, i.e. BITS Pilani and was accorded the status of deemed university in 1964. The institute provides courses in engineering field at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. Besides that, the BITS has got accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A grade. BITS Pilani also has campuses at Goa, Dubai, and Hyderabad.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
To be eligible, the candidate should have gone through higher secondary examination with 80% in aggregate with 60% in Physics, maths and chemistry and English from any recognized Central or State Board or equivalent. There is also a provision for the direct admission for the toppers.

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech
The aspirants must have done Undergraduate degree with any of the relevant subjects from BIT or equivalent.

M Sc
Graduation in the related subject is required to be eligible in this program.

MBA
The candidate should have scored at least 60% marks at the Undergraduate level of BITS or other recognized universities.

Doctorate:
To be eligible, the aspirant should have any higher degree of BITS or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination.

Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
The procedure for the admission is totally based on the merit and the decision on merit is from score of the candidate in the BITSAT.

Entrance Test: BITSAT Exam

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech
The admission procedure is taken out from the Online test and interview conducted by the institute.

M Sc
The admission is based on the merit.

MBA
The admission is on the basis of the online test, group discussion and interview taken by the institute.

Doctorate:
Written test and interview is held for the program at the Doctoral level.
