Birla Institute of Technology Ranchi

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Ranchi, which was established in 1955, is a deemed University. BIT Ranchi ranks among the premier technical institutes of India and has several firsts to its credit. BIT Ranchi was the first Institute to establish a Department of Space Engineering & Rocketry in the year 1964.

BIT mESRA (Ranchi) became the first technical University to establish overseas extension centers in the year 2000. It is one of the few Universities to be accorded a Super Computer at the core of its ultramodern IT infrastructure.

Birla Institute of Technology Ranchi has got accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and UGC. The institute offers various courses in the engineering stream at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
To be eligible, the candidate should have passed Higher Secondary Examination in the Physics, Mathematics and English or other two subjects as per the AIEEE norms with minimum 60% marks.

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech
The aspirants should have cleared their Graduation with minimum 60% marks (45% for SC/ST) from any recognized University or institute. For Sponsored Candidates, 55% marks are required and GATE qualifiers are preferable.

M Sc
To be eligible, the candidate must have Undergraduate degree from any recognized university or equivalent with minimum 55% of marks (45% for SC/ST).

MCA
Under the Eligibility criteria the candidate should have passed 10+2 with Maths or Graduation with Maths and Statistics.

MBA
The candidate must have sit in CAT examination and he or she must have Bachelor Degree or equivalent from any stream. For the BSc. BA , B.Com candidates, they should have 55% marks (for SC/ST 45%). The candidates from the BBA and other gradate program, they must have scored 55% marks (for SC/ST 45%). Regarding with , the candidate must have minimum 40 (25 for SC/ST).

Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
To get admission, the aspirants have to go through the AIEEE held by the CBSE and Central Counseling organizes by the Central Counseling Board (CCB).

Entrance Test: AIEEE Exam

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech
For the course of ME/MTech, the selection of the candidate is based on the GATE scores & interviews (for GATE candidates) and Institute Entrance Test & personal interviews (for non-GATE candidates).

M Sc
To get admission, the selection of the candidate is based on the scores in Institute Online Entrance Test (BIT-MET) and Counseling/Interviews.

MCA
The admission in this course is taken out by the online entrance test which is followed by the counseling.

MBA
The selection of the Candidate in this program is based on the total Percentile Score in the CAT.
