GATE 2014 Exam Pattern

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, popularly known as GATE Exam, is conducted by the joint efforts of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), on behalf of National Coordinating Board of GATE, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India. The competitive exam is conducted for admission into postgraduate level courses in various branches of engineering/technology/computer science/pharmacy/architecture, conducted by various institutes and universities in India.
Examination Pattern for GATE 2013

GATE 2014 will be conducted in two modes - online mode and offline/paper based. In the online mode of examination, the candidates have to choose the correct answer out of the four given options, by using mouse/keyboard. In the offline/paper based mode of exam, the candidates are required to mark the correct answer out of the four given options in the Optical Response Sheet (ORS), by darkening the appropriate bubble. The GATE exam contains a single paper, which has to be completed by the candidates within three hours duration. The papers with AE, GG, MN and TF will be conducted through online, whereas, for other papers, candidates have to appear for offline or paper based mode of the exam. Apart from numerical answer type questions, there will be negative marking in the exam for each wrong answer.
