Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted through a joint effort of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), under the aegis of National Coordinating Board - GATE, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The students who are seeking their admission in Engineering/Technology/Science/Pharmacy/Architecture course at the postgraduate level, have to appear for GATE Exam.
 
Syllabus
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is considered among the toughest entrance tests in the field of engineering. It consists of both academic and all round knowledge based questions. Therefore, the candidates have to prepare well before appearing in the exam.
 
The questions in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) are generally asked from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Zoology, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering and Fibre Science,  Engineering Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science, Solid Mechanics, Thermodynamics,  Polymer Science and Engineering etc.
