Examination Pattern for UPCAT Dental Exam



Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test Dental (UPCAT Dental) is a national level entrance test conducted for the admission in undergraduate level dental programmes. It is conducted by Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The students, who are seeking their admission to dental programme i.e. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), have to appear and qualify the competitive entrance test. Selected candidates get enrolled in several colleges which accept the UPCAT-Dental score in their admission procedure. Merit list is prepared on the basis of candidate’s performance in entrance exams. Thereafter, the selected candidates are called for counseling, for the final selection.
 
UPCAT- Dental Examination Pattern:
 
The examination pattern of UPCAT- Dental for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is as follows:
 
  • The duration of the examination is 3 hours.
  • It consists of 200 questions.
  • It is an objective type question paper followed by four options.
  • One mark is awarded for every correct answer.
  • There is no negative marking.
Counseling:
After qualifying exam, on the basis of merit list selected candidates have to appear for counseling for enrollment in allotted colleges of UP and further procedure of admission in Dental courses of undergraduate level.
