Examination Pattern for IBSAT Exam



Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) University, Dehradun conducts an aptitude test - ICFAI Business Studies Aptitude Test (IBSAT) - every year for the admission in various postgraduate programs in the field of management. The University conducts this entrance test at more than 100 cities across India.
 
Examination Pattern
The examination pattern of IBSAT is given in the following lines.
 
  • The format of IBSAT Exam in largely same as GMAT exam as the questions are objective type. Each question carries multiple options to find out the right one by the candidates.
  • The questions are asked to examine candidates’ abilities in quantitative techniques, data adequacy, vocabulary, writing skills, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.
  • All the questions are expected to be answered by the candidates within two hours, which is the duration of the program.
  • The weightage of IBSAT Exam in the admission process is 25%.
 
 
General Essay
Immediately after the IBSAT Exam, the candidates are required to write an essay on any general topic, which contributes 5% weightage to the admission process, on the same day at the same center. The essay has the limitation 400 words and it should be completed by the candidates within 30 minutes duration. Those who are not appearing for general essay are not called for interview.
 
Past academic performances
While admitting the students to the course, their previous academic performances in 10th and 12th standard of examination with the marks at the graduation level are also considered. This carries as much as 20% weightage.
 
General Knowledge Test
All the short-listed candidates have to appear in a general knowledge test on the same day of interview. The test consists of 100 multiple choice questions based on current affairs and general awareness. Candidates have to answer all the questions within 30 minutes. The weightage of the test in the admission procedure is 10%.
 
Micro presentation and interview
For the final selection, the candidates have to present a 5-7 minutes presentation on a selected topic for the weightage of 20% in the admission procedure. The final level of admission procedure is interview. It is conducted to test the knowledge of the candidates on the topic which they present in micro presentation. The weightage of interview is 20% in the selection procedure.
