Examination Pattern for Gujarat CET



Every year from 2002, Gujarat Common Entrance Test, which is predominantly referred to as GCET, is conducted to select deserving candidates for admission into Master of Business Administration (MBA) course and Master of Computer Application (MCA) by Gujarat Technological University. The single-window entrance examination is the result of the initiative taken by Government of Gujarat. Various centers are allocated across the country in order to conduct entrance examination.  
 
Examination Pattern
Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) is among the most competitive entrance examinations of the state.
 
For MCA
The entrance examination consists of 250 objective questions, which are required to be answered with in the time-limit of three hours of duration. Four alternatives are given against each specific question. The candidate is required to choose the correct option. 25% of the total marks allotted for the question are deducted in case of every wrong answer.

The entrance exam will test the candidate’s
  • Quantitative Ability
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  • Language Ability
  • Mathematics/Business aptitude
The questions on Mathematics or Statistics will be of 10+2 standard of Gujarat HSC Board.
 
For MBA

The examination pattern of GCET is similar to the national-level entrance exam of CAT/MAT etc. the entrance exam tests the candidates ability under following sections-

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Data Interpretation & Reasoning
  • English
  • General Knowledge / General Awareness / Business Knowledge
 
It is a computer based objective entrance examination. The candidates are required to click on the correct option on computer itself. The entrance exam consists of 150 questions, which need to be answered in time-limit of 2 hours.
