Examination Pattern for Assam JAT



The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam, conducts Assam Joint Admission Test (Assam JAT), every year. It conducts the competitive entrance test for admission of candidates to several undergraduate programs in the fields of engineering, medical, dental and Ayurveda. Many colleges in Assam and NIT Guwahati accept Assam JAT scores of the candidates.
 
Examination Pattern
Students applying for admission to institutes under DTE Assam, to the aforementioned streams, have to clear Assam Joint Admission Test. The examination pattern of Assam JAT is given in the following lines.
 
The question paper is divided into four parts:

Mathematics (100 marks)
Physics (100 marks)
Chemistry (100 marks)
Biology (100 marks)

  • All the questions are Objective-cum-Subjective type, in which, the candidates have to solve multiple choice type questions as well as writing essay on the given topics.
  • The candidates have to complete each paper in three hours duration.
  • In the competitive entrance test, there is no provision of negative marking.
 
Merit List
On the basis of the candidates’ performances in Assam Joint Admission Test, the Directorate of Technical Education Assam prepares a merit list to finalize the selection of the candidates for the undergraduate programs.
