Eligibility for WBJEE



West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board conducts West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) for admission into B.E, B. Tech, B. Pharmacy, M.B.B.S, B.D.S, and B. V.Sc programmes offered by Universities and various institutions located in the state of West Bengal. The scores of the test are also valid for admission in undergraduate architecture programme offered by Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur and Jadavpur University.
 
Eligibility for WBJEE
In order to appear for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE), the applicant should be an Indian citizen. He/she should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with not less than 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biological Sciences. Relaxation of 10% is there for SC/ST candidates. In addition to this, the candidates are required to secure minimum 30% marks in English with passing marks in five subjects.
 
For Marine Engineering programme: The candidates are required to pass higher secondary or equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with at least 50% marks in English either at 10th level or at 10+2 level.
 
For B. Arch programme: The candidates have to pass National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture in New Delhi along with passing 10+2 with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together and 30% marks in English.
 
For Medical and Dental courses (MBBS, BDS): The candidates are required to study biology as a subject at 10+2 level. 
 
For B. Tech/B.E: The applicants have to study Mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level.
 
For Pharmacy: Only the candidates, who have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level along with Physics and Chemistry, are eligible to seek admission in pharmacy programme offered by Jadavpur University.
 

The minimum age limit for the candidates is 17 years as on 31st December of the current year. In case of Marine Engineering, the upper age limit of the candidate is 25 years as on the 31st July of the year of admission.
