Eligibility for Gujarat CET



Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) is conducted every year to select deserving candidates for admission into MBA and MCA courses offered in various institutions of Gujarat affiliated to prominent state Universities. Scores of the single-window entrance examination are considered for admission into aforementioned subjects.
 
Eligibility
In order to admit students into Master of Business Administration (MBA) course, both full-time and part-time and Master of Computer Application (MCA) course offered in various institutions across the state, government of Gujarat took the initiative to conduct single-window entrance exam, namely, Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET). The entrance examination is among the competitive entrances of the state.
 
MBA
The candidates, who have passed graduation with not less than 50% aggregate marks from any recognized Gujarat University, can apply. Relaxation of 5% is there in minimum percentile required for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe. The candidates, who have done graduation from a University outside Gujarat, can also apply, provided they have passed their 10+2 from Gujarat Board, or any other national level Board from which the student had studied based in Gujarat.
 
MCA
The candidates with BCA degree from a recognized Gujarat University are eligible. Those, who have done graduation in some other field from any recognized University of Gujarat, are also eligible, provided they have studied Mathematics or statistics as one of the subject at 10+2 level. Exemption of study of Mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level is only for those, who have studied BCA from Gujarat University. The candidates with graduation degree from places outside Gujarat are eligible, in case they have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized school located in Gujarat.
 
Non-resident Gujarati (NRG) candidates, who have passed qualifying examination from places outside Gujarat and Gujarati-NRI candidates are eligible only for admission under management quota of private unaided institutes.
 
The candidates, who have appeared in the qualifying examination and are waiting for their results are eligible, but their admission will be considered as provisional till the declaration of the result.
