National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai was
established in 1963 by the Government of India with the assistance of
United Nations Development Project (UNDP) through the International
Labour Organization (ILO). NITIE is an autonomous body under the
Ministry of HRD, Government of India and is governed by a Board of
Governors, comprising of eminent personalities from Government,
Academicians and Industry. NITIE Mumbai is India's only training
institute that sought to teach materials management, work studies,
inventory control, shop floor management and personnel management to
India's industry professionals.
Academic Programs offered by NITIE Mumbai are:
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM): PGDIM is
one of the premier management courses and is recognized as a full time
MBA program by AICTE. The program offers specializations in Marketing,
Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations and Supply Chain
Management, and IT & Systems. The course duration is two years.
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE): PGDIE
has evolved as a course for developing Managers with cross- functional
skills. The programme covers a variety of courses covering the areas of
Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, IT and Systems,
Marketing Management, Finance and Human Resources Management. The course
duration is two years.
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety & Environmental
Management (PGDISEM): PGDISEM provides technical inputs in
environmental and safety engineering, which is synchronized with
knowledge of management concepts and tools. The course lays emphasis on
a harmonious relationship between business and environment and promotes
the concept of sustainable development. The course duration is two
years.
Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Management (PGDITM):
PGDITM is a two-year full-time program. The program aims to provide
total solutions using IT across industries.
Besides the above programs NITIE Mumbai also offers Management
Developments Program (MDP), Unit Based Programs (UBP) and Fellowship
Programs.
Candidates seeking admission to PGDIM, PGDISEM, and PGDITM should have
a Bachelor's Degree with first class in any branch of
Engineering/Technology or equivalent with First Division. Sponsored
candidates get 5% relaxation in marks and should have at least 2 years
of relevant experience after graduation in Engineering / Technology /
equivalent.
Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT and shortlisted
candidates are called for Group Discussion / Personal Interview.
