NIT Hamirpur

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur was established in 1986 as a joint and Co-operative enterprise of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. The institute was one of the seventeen regional engineering colleges of India and was formerly known as Regional Engineering College Hamirpur. In 2002, the institute was designated as National Institute of Technology and was accorded the status of Deemed University.

Academic Programs offered by NIT Hamirpur:

Undergraduate Programs: There is a total intake of 290 students in the undergraduate courses. Out the total seats 50% of the seats are reserved for students from the home state and rest of seats are open for students from other states and UTs. NIT Hamirpur offers undergraduate programs in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. Candidates are admitted to the undergraduate programs on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE.

Postgraduate Programs: NIT offers 2-year M.Tech Programs in Civil Engineering (Water Resource Engineering) Electrical Engineering (Advanced Power System and Control) Mechanical Engineering (Computational Methods and Experimental Techniques in Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer) and Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering (VLSI Design Automation & Techniques). The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of merit of GATE score and the performance in interview or merit of BE/ B.Tech. examination score and the performance in the interview.
