Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal ranks
among the premier technological institutes of India. It is one of the
first eight Regional engineering Colleges in India. MANIT was
established in 1960 with the joint effort of the Govt. of India and
Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. MANIT Bhopal was earlier known as Maulana Azad
College of Technology (MACT). In 2002, the institute was accorded the
status of deemed university and was re-christened as Maulana Azad
National Institute of Technology.
Academic Programs offered by MANIT Bhopal are:
B.Tech / B.Arch: MANIT Bhopal offers 4-year B.Tech programs in
Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science &
Engineering, and Information Technology. The duration of Bachelor of
Architecture program is 5 years. The admissions to the undergraduate
programme (B.Tech.) in various fields are held through All India
Engineering Entrance Examination (A.I.E.E.E) conducted by C.B.S.E. The
candidates who have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination are
eligible to apply. Those appearing in 10+2 are also eligible to apply.
Master of Technology / Master of Urban Development Planning:
MANIT conducts full time and part time programs in M.Tech / MUDP. The
duration of full-time programs is 2 years. Candidates are selected on
the basis of performance in GATE. The duration of part time programs is
3 years. Candidates seeking admission in part time programs must be
employed in Govt. / Public Undertaking / Reputed Pvt. Undertaking
located in Bhopal with at least two year experience in the field of
specialization.
