The International Institute of Information Technology,
Pune is located at the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Hinjawadi in Pune. It
is an educational institution of higher studies in the field of
Information Technology. The institute is situated close to the offices
of top IT companies, like Infosys, Wipro, Tata Technologies and
Cognizant.
The IIIT, Pune was founded in the year 1979 by Mr. Pralhad P. Chhabria
who is a well-known industrialist as well as philanthropist and is also
the Chairman of the Finolex Group of Companies and Mr. Kishan P.
Chhabria, Managing Director of Finolex Industries Ltd. It is also
affiliated to the Mumbai University and has also received the approval
of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
There are various facilities in the campus, like a well structured
library, spacious lecture halls, laboratories which have all the latest
training equipments, a computer center and facilities for sports and
extra-curricular activities. The International Institute of Information
Technology is a brainchild of Padamshree Dr. Vijay Bhatkar.
The International Institute of Information Technology is an autonomous
institute whose curriculum was developed by some of the top academicians
and industry professionals of the country. It is one of the premier
technology institutions of the country today and has also been awarded
the Maharashtra Information Technology Award, 2006 for achievements in
the field of IT education. The IIIT offers Advanced Postgraduate Courses
in Information Technology and Management.
The IIIT, Pune is an approved center of the University of Pune for
research, which not only provides Postgraduate degrees, but provides
Doctoral level programmes as well. The programmes offered by the IIIT,
Pune are internationally recognized and all the courses provided by the
institution are relevant to the current trends in the industry. The

Eligibility
School of Information Technology
Postgraduate Programmes: For admission to the programmes of the
School of Information Technology, a student must have successfully
completed their graduation with any Bachelor's Degree of atleast 3
Years' duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level with
minimum 50% marks.
A student should also have some computing background in C and C++
programming languages.
However, for courses like Advanced Postgraduate Program in Embedded
Systems Design, a candidate must have completed the graduation degree in
Engineering Technology/ Electrical/ Electronics/Instrumentation, etc.
School of Management Technology
Postgraduate Programmes: For admission to the School of
Management Technology, a student must have passed the Bachelor Degree
course of minimum three year duration in any field. Graduates in
Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, the Sciences, Engineering and
Technology are preferred with minimum 50% marks.
The student must be proficient in C/C++ programming language as well.
Ph.D Programmes: For Ph.D Programmes the student must have
completed the Master's Degree in any field successfully. The Ph.D
programmes are as per the guidelines of the University of Pune.
Admission
Postgraduate Programmes: For admission to the Postgraduation Programmes
the student must be a graduate. Sound computing knowledge and background
in C and C++ languages would be preferred.
Ph.D Programmes: For admission to the Ph.D Programmes, the student is
given admission according to the Pune University admission norms.
