Indian Institute Of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) was
established by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in 1999, as a center of
excellence in Information Technology and allied areas. The institute was
established on the recommendations of National Task Force on IT and
Software Development, constituted in 1998. IIIT Allahabad was conferred
the "Deemed University" status by Govt. of India in the year
2000.
Academic Programs conducted by IIIT Allahabad:
Bachelor of Technology (IT): IIIT Allahabad offers a four year
B.Tech. Program in Information Technology. The course is one of the best
in India in the field of information technology and provides ample
industry exposure. Admission to the program is made through All India
Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE.
Master of Technology in Information Technology (M.Tech): IIIT
Allahabad presently offers four M.Tech programs: M.Tech. (Intelligent
Systems), M.Tech. (Wireless Communication & Computing), M.Tech. (Bio
Informatics), and M.Tech. (Software Engineering). Each stream has 20
seats out of which 5 seats are reserved for industry sponsored
candidates. Candidates are admitted on the basis of GATE score and
test/interview conducted by the institution.
Master of Business Administration in Information Technology:
This is a two year program that provides an in-depth understanding of
the operational and strategic aspects of managing with Information
Technology. The program encorporates flexibility in accordance with the
latest practices in the Industry.
Besides the above programs, Indian Institute Of Information Technology,
Allahabad offers Doctoral Programs on host of topics such as:
Networking, Industrial Automation, Chemical structures and modeling, Bio
systems etc.
