The ICFAI University was formed in the year 1984 at
Hyderabad and was called Institute of Certified Financial Analysts. Its
main function was to look after the training and certification needs of
the students who were interested to take up financial analysis as their
career. Later on, the name of the institute was changed to The Institute
of Chartered Financial Analysts of India. It is, at present, registered
as a non-profit organization whose main aim is to give knowledge and
training pertaining to finance and management to various students and
the working professionals in India.
Slowly but surely ICFAI University has built up more than 250 office
branches all across India. It has become one of the most sought after
Universities in India. It now has its presence even in Sri Lanka through
the ICFAI Education Lanka or IEL which has been set up in Colombo. Apart
from Sri Lanka, it has also entered into an official agreement with the
state of South Australia to set up its campus in Adelaide.
The ICFAI University is present in the esteemed list of the University
Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council has also given its approval
to the same. During the last fifty years or so India has seen tremendous
amounts of growth in both science and technology. To cater to this ever
growing demand of the industries, the ICFAI Institute of Science and
Technology offers four year full time campus based B.Tech Degree
Programme with various branches in the fields of Biotechnology, Computer
Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering,
Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
The course curriculum that is offered by the company includes material
which relates to some of the latest technologies. A single most unique
feature of the B.Tech. Programme offered by ICFAI Tech is that the
Programme also includes Internship Programme during the third and fourth
year of study. Thus, the B.Tech. Programme provides a full range of
study subjects which provides knowledge in various fields of study, both
functional and integrative.
The ICFAI Tech Hyderabad has also been ranked 78 among all the Top 100
Engineering Colleges of the country in the year July 2006. This poll was
conducted by the Outlook magazine.

The ICFAI Institute of Science and Technology offers a 4-Year full-time
B.Tech. Degree Course which is campus-based and consists of 8 semesters.
This Programme is offered at 5 campuses of ICFAI Tech, namely;
Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Hyderabad and Jaipur. The B.Tech
Programme of ICFAI Tech equips the students with an all encompassing
understanding of the particular field of study.
