AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination)
All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is conducted by
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to select candidates for
admission to Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Pharmacy degree
courses in different engineering colleges and institutes in India. All
the 20 National Institutes of Technology (NIT), four Indian Institutes
of Information Technology (IIIT) and several Deemed Universities such as
Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala, and
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra admit students on the basis of
their performance in AIEEE.
Eligibility: Only Indian nationals are eligible to appear in the All
India Engineering Entrance Examination. The candidate must be less than
25 years of age on the first day of October of the year of examination.
In the case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically

AIEEE Syllabus: Syllabus for B.E. / B.Tech is
of 10+2 level. The questions are based on a common minimum syllabus
drawn from syllabi taught in different State Boards. The syllabus of
Aptitude Test -Part 1 & Part 2 for B.Arch. / B.Planning is as
follows:
Part 1: Awareness of persons, places, buildings etc. of
Architectural importance. Visualising three dimensional objects from two
dimensional drawings. Visualsing different sides of three dimensional
objects. Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their
textural qualities and colour. Analytical reasoning Mental ability.
Part 2: Three dimensional perception. Understanding and
appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and
elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast. Design and drawing of
geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation of
forms both 2D and 3D - union, substraction, rotation, development of
surfaces and volumes; Generation of plan, elevations and 3D views of
objects. Creating two dimensional and three dimensional compositions
using given shapes and forms. Sketching of scenes and activities from
memory of urban-scape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes,
monuments, recreational spaces etc.), landscape (river fronts, jungles,
gardens, trees, plants etc.) and rural life.
